Outliers - 10,000hr rule, Malcolm Gladwell, HuaHui real life venue, QiQ Couture's formal wear choice

QiQ Couturier's choice for an example of flowing formal kimono wear - here by Milky a wedding attire. There are many items in this outfit, down to hairdress which Swann did not wear. The outer jacket, inner layers of collars, inner skirt; pants, outer robes and the fanning out skirts - all for photo opportunities.

Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell - its an interesting experiment - (I like experiments!) why not try it with the guqin?
Practice 3hrs per day, 365 days a year for 10 years, will you become an expert in the performance of guqin? How many people can stand this? Or can maintain their interest ?

How many subjects could you think of that you could continue 3 hrs per day everyday for 10 years?

A girl from my guqin beginners summer class asked me (we played 2 hrs per day for 5 days a wk for 8 wks= 60hrs), is it very hard/rare to find something we like? She was/is in love with playing the guqin.

I said, no. You will come across many things that you love, but some will not last a long time - for example, that 5 star beach front resort you told me about, it might last one wk? But if you were stuck there day after day, you will be bored to death. So guqin might last a little longer. Its not good or bad. Just some things lasts a bit longer. Judging from the amount of material you have to work on, its ability to engage your interest could last a long time whereas a seaside beach resort is limited.

She nodded wistfully, thankful of my sharing of wisdom! :)

Anyway, now Malcolm Gladwell has come out with his bestseller (people are all talking about it for a while now, so even though I hadnt been looking for it in particular, this book and the 10,000hr rule comes up over and over again... so I must pay attention to this message. I think, thats not so hard, 3hrs per day - if the subject can stand being worked on over and over again by somebody. Not everybody could do everything for 3hrs everyday for 10 years! Some people study insects, others in wine making, or so many restaurant big chefs, gd cuisine! These are all life time endeavours!

So what might be your 3hr per day everyday for ten year thing?

I think the HuaHui cube is along this drift, how little re-purposing gestures could add up into a beautiful venue for a travelling musical event venue.
