Lorna Raver reads Edith Whartons "Age of Innocence" Black Stone Audios

Age of coronavirus, age of audio books, and ... Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton. Wow, imagine this written so long ago, so fresh, so good. I never had so much time to read (audio books...) I remember a friend in the 80s she said she imagine why not invent a "listen to a book", she didnt act on it, and now, we have audio books. But readers are either good readers, they read as if interpreting music, or they actually act out the book, voice acting. The reader of this one, let me check her name - is so good. Some other readers takes on this tone v irritating to listen to. Ruins the book almost. Then, we are also in the age of private channels, on youtube for example. People sometimes wish to get some one to do voice over, or dubbing of their talks, which i think is a grave mistake. I much prefer subtitles. Because no one could act out a live personality in a dubbing successfully. What might work is maybe a simultaneous translation. But that is no better than subtitles. Anyways, bravo to the reader of Edith Whartons Age of Innocence... Black Stone Audios, and her name is...Lorna Raver.
