Finally am able to watch this movie, last day of the year. 

The women are so soft gd subservient to their husbands, but the husbands are not up to it, writing poems v dainty meetings.  About love, mismatched social rules, poem writing as a form of confession, all v delicate and careful. 

What a world of difference w today.

V v slow moving... i will watch it in 2 sessions.  paused at 40mn. The scenes are v neat and tidy, I like the old fashion way of keeping shop, talking in poem parties.

After reading Joseph's film viewing diary each time, I chose to watch this movie, because of the title - The Eternal Breasts. 1955, I like the feeling of how the people moves in the movie, its got an ambiance thats nostalgic. All the people in the movie has a v stable , in possession of themselves way. They know their social rules and behave accordingly, a very stable society. Even the way people eat, w chopsticks, their way of eating w small pieces, mouth open small, and food just goes in naturally is v different from todays peoples way of eating shown in films, they are much more harried, eats hungrily, quickly. Pace is v different.
