Meeting Freya and classmates on singing class 19jul2023

Hello Maria Bjurström and all students! If there is something specific that you would like checked from your coursework or exercises- the monthly Q&A with Freya that takes place on the first Wednesday of each month is the perfect place to get that feedback. The next one will be August 2nd at 9am! Send an email to info@masteryourvoice.tv with your specific question or 20 seconds or less clip and put in the title: Q&A with Freya- and she will address it then. Tomorrow is the Third Wednesday of the month, which means it is our OSS accountability hour @11am EST (5pm CET) which I host. This is a great group to discuss our singing goals, have some social time with your fellow students and receive motivation and encouragement to continue your vocal studies!

Also, Maria Bjurström and @everyone - the other way to receive feedback from Freya with the Online Singing School is to continue being active and posting. The student with the most activity each month receives a 20 minute coaching session from Freya.

Summary of our meeting:

I was at our meeting and met everyone online.

My questions posed via email were the following
1:: How to set up microphone and small studio, so we could get going asap; is it possible to have a photo of the equipment that we should have? That gives gd sound for online communication and for recording? Other students in the class are also interested.
1// Urgent!! set up recording studio, please give us a list of equipment what do you use? and we could set up nicely , just like you. Set up in living room for example. Which mic which etc etc. The sooner we set up the sooner we have beautiful recordings to show you!!!
2// Admiration for singers; We would like to hear some recent singing by Freya, this way it gives us more incentive, extra juice to jump start our work!
3// Prize of 20mn one on one critique: I understand that the most active one in the group would have won a 20mn one on one critique from Freya? And a fellow student said that I am the one for this month, is that true? If yes, maybe I could reserve the 20mn for one or two wks while I prepare a super song for Freya to do critique? 🙂 Is this a confirmed win?
4// Suggestion for my voice: As I have posted many different examples of my singing from high to low etc, I was told that my range is very large and....
"You have a very large vocal range. Where I think u need to work on is the transition between the high and the low notes. She has some exercises that u can do" my classmate has thus summed up my voice, which I agree with. If teacher Freya could suggested which exercises specifically would help me smooth the passage, I will do the necessary!! with pleasure and hardwork, and make recording to register the progress.
and lastly, very important
5// I must verbalise, speakup my goals, wishes and dreams, long term and short to pave the way, and conquer!
Thats my 5 points conclusion.
We wait for your photos of a recording setup, something like what you have is good too! Warmest regards
Shuen-git and classmates!

Shuengit Chow: Here are some lessons regarding the break!
In the OSS curriculum under
Masterclass: Head voice and transitions
2) OSS curriculum under Assess your Voice: What's your main transition
3) OSS curriculum Exercise of the Week: Vocal Register Transitions 7-03.
4)The Vocal Troubleshooting Guide curriculum under Troubleshooting Steps section:

Let me know if you are able to find those in your courses. If not, I will help you find them!
