language by itself cannot do much, language is only useful if your auditors share a common understanding of context. As if the speaker and the auditors are creating painting on the same canvas. If they were not on the same "canvas", there is no magic in language creativity etc. English is simpler than German etc, not really, it depends on who is doing the learning, as a child, mother tongues are always the easiest. It is only when you have to learn a foreign language that you could say this or that is easier. Part of this, is because some languages depends on a context of un-spoken givens, this would be a lot harder for an adult to learn if they want to truly understand and manage all the subtlties. As for utility languages, all adults could learn more or less a usable set of speech, language. As for the simplified chinese versus traditional chinese, simplified chinese is not aesthetic, even now, i could read without problems, but it definitely is a stripping of an existing rich visual language into a syntatic type of writing. But, if you like something enough, you will make an effort to learn it, not true?
