9march2024 My singing friend on smule told me that her teacher tells them to not forget to practice head voice everyday; thats why I love Dimash songs, its both high and low. Here is my practice yesterday incited by the songs lyrics, about Its a mans world by James Brown, and i tried to sing it. Its v interesting, you think you know the song just a bit, but when you actually go through the singing process, you realise all thats involved. And through listening you can really hear who could sing ok and who has more than just singing. A pro is a pro. But, i always prefer to look at super pros, because you know they are way up there, dont worry you can never get there yet. No sweat, just listen and learn something and you are a winner already.

@DQDeer  yes, i know it starts off a little bluesy etc, but its not a soul and jazz song yet; soul and jazz requires a lot of personal expression. Not standard stuff :)

@swannjiejiechow3495  Please read your own comment again, then you understand why you get replies like you did. You mixed up blues and soul, that's why I referred to this song as a blues song. Btw. this song has a pretty distinct blues rhythm throughout, so it's more than just a little 'bluesy'. Yet it's a Dimash song, so you get a lot more mixed in:-)
2
@DQDeer  thanks for the feedback. A blue song to me has to have blue issues, not just a rhythm, soul has to also have some solide soulful issues; but i am no expert. I only try to listen. For example a love song, is normally "in love" somewhere and not demonstrative full blast etc. This is just how i listen for sounds, language is another angle but the sound itself has hints to whats been expressed. But i am no expert. Thanks for the explanation. :)
@swannjiejiechow3495  :-) I understand what you write, but for me music is life, and life is more complex than just one pure feeling for one genre. Like your love song example. There are love songs about a fresh love, cloud 9 stuff. There are also love songs about a deep, heartfelt, 'old' love. Some love songs are about a failed love, or a painful one, about loving the wrong person, being hurt or betrayed by the one you love, or whatever. So there are happy love songs, and sad ones, and angry ones, and love songs filled with grief, and so on. Same goes with blues and soul. The blue or soulful issues come in many shades. :-)
He said he might, maybe, sing soul and jazz. If you want to hear him sing blues, watch the video again:-)

Yes of course, w o all these shades that you describe, a hallmark card + signature might be enough, but the receiver/viewer will create all kinds of détails, it will still be v authentic to the receiver - esp if it's secret no details it's a hidden code - so any receiver could start to replace the outline w his own detailed personal experiences, it will still make great resonance to him/her. But for the one who wants confirmation, it's not enough. But our precious singer has such a super capacity for singing, I am enticed to see what's up next. Especially when I want to keep this as a discovery fresh expérience and not an encyclopedic knowledge - though that is how university education has given people and should provide. It's all gd. One of my fav love song is Tom Jones' Delilah. It's a bit funny at the same time. The song does not say I am so jealous, openly. It shows what the jealous one sees.

did  some research on karaoke singing app's medal rewards,
WeSing has a wall of medals
The first singer medal i got was a Dimash medal, where i sang 10 songs with score of triple S, then i gt a medal

Cover by 17yr old she learnt in one day
Michelle Wong, Malaysian dear

A very kind young singer 17yrs old from Malaysia @MichelleWongMJ told me how she isolated tracks for singing her own vocals. She sang the new Dimash song as gift to Dimash. 🙂

this comment below somehow has been made disappeared

9march2024, due to the lyric of the song, I started to listen to James Brown, I have a cd at home, first time i really listened to him, wow, this guy is a force of nature; "its a mans world", and I sang it on smule w someone w v gd voice. My singing friend on smule told me that her teacher tells them to not forget to practice head voice everyday; thats why I love Dimash songs, its both high and low. Here is my practice yesterday influenced by Dimash lyrics, about a mans world. My fav teacher, cant wait to hear your jazz and soul songs! This guy is really special, its only yesterday that 8 actually took time to listen to him. Original, life force. Anybody tried to copy him? Is there a James Brown style? https://www.smule.com/sing-recording/2242328039_4823630158

8 march2024, world women day! V sunny here, beautiful. The singer sings A man in a man's world - I think of James Browns', it's a mannnnns wooorld... So i listen again in the car. How is James Browns' man's world compared to our present internet world? :). Riff n runs fun to do, me thinks. Will try later, one line at a time. :) I have a problem, don't like to mémorisé lyrics, if I could just sing off a scrolling lyric , text that would be v gd. Same problem w playing guqin. Memorising tunes. Fingerings.... I had v gd memory in high school, then I decided why use braincells like this, just write it down is better? Now, I find it hard to revert. I prefer sight reading

7march2024. , on the road, shall I try singing in the car? Like singing practices and lessons car pool style, singing w talented children singers. Doesn't work well. Too much noise. More listening, :)

6 march 2024. Listened non stop in a loop for a couple of hours, found the lyrics, printed them out, looking at the lyrics and tried to sing it a bit, much easier than just doing it by ear; now, if i want to be v precise, have to get the music sheet too... this leads me to think there must be kind of pitch reading softwares, where you input a song, and outcomes the musical score. :) but for now, its ok, i just do it by ear as best as i can. I love the guitar run and the Dimash vocal run... even without words, its really v moving. More later. I will see if i could sing a couple of lines. Its ust for fun, part of the unending singing experiment. So happy there are dimash songs for me to play with. The most rich, full scaled from v low to high, and back. Running like fresh water over little pebbles. At the end of his line he gives the impression that he could still go on a little more. Thank you v much, my fav teacher. Beautiful voice, and making available visuals and sounds for beginners like me... love! How could we not love him? If he did everything so fitting for everybody's heart, wishes and desires?

found some interesting softwares musicians use, v interesting, the world is fast and good ;)

6 march 2024, part 2, still mainly listening, will try singing tomorrow, because i have a slight onset of cold, itchy throat, phlegme, will be better tomorrow. The other thing is, I drank wine and had 2 v gd ice creams, lemon-yuzi and triple chocolate and super handmade dumplings to celebrate a long awaited work to start, it finally came through, a phone call, yes, the window guy has finally started work today after 3+ years waiting, phone call -we are starting work.... wow, thats worthy of a celebration. Tomorrow, the launch of learning to sing WIGY. So far, I am only singing on karaoke app, the one I used was first Starmaker, then, WeSing, now WeSing and Smule. All the apps have Dimash songs. To my surprise, I learnt that I was given a Dimash medal - a virtual medal - for having sung 10 songs with SSS rating for a specific artist :) This makes me want to perfect the next one, Unforgettable days - entirely in Chinese, (I tranlsated the front part from kazaks to chinese already, its easier for me than to sing in kazaks) but now, due to current context. I will try the WIGY next see how far I get. :)

5 march 2024. Watched press conference for the coming Istanbul concert. I wanted to visit Istanbul for a long time now, looks like a gd time... Or maybe he will come to Paris? I don't like everything pushed together... For some reason I am still listening. The running up n down guitar notes are so good. D's voice also running up n down. So good.

A polish fan tells me:
@ekm9055  thats wonderful, I like his voice very much. His voice inspired me to want to learn to sing, and often you learn something new you might keep up for a few months or a year, and sometimes you find other things and stop. So far, I find his voice and the songs he chooses are v rich and it could take a long time to discover details - there are always small details nuances, delicate movements this makes his songs more than a pop song. Its got more depth, the musical part. The lyrics are often common, as songs are better that way. Have you tried to learn to sing, to understand how it happened that you become a diff person as you say? How are you different. Myself I found something I love to do, I had always wanted to work in music, but never thought of singing, and I am v happy to begin this v deep and complex instrument - my own voice - a whole new world, discipline, takes a life time to learn.

4 March 2024. Juicy day. A pop song, a super tube needs to be singable by a lot of people. A great song might not be a tube because it's too hard - but usually there are bits that everyone could sing. Almost everyone could sing a bit of O solo mio, and when the song was re assigned to Elvis, it turns to It's now or never, a lot more people would sing it, because it's Elvis.... oozing love and desire, etc. so I like to plug in words to make a song more authentic to the singers context. Anyway these are issues I consider before learning a new song. Takes me at least a month to learn a new song - don't want to learn songs that's a bit no longer my "vibes", even though the song might be super moving, because I don't have that much time, amateur, I have to do other things, see movies, watch tik tok, dance class, exercise, shop for food, cook, read books etc. so for this new song, I prepare as follows: Preparation to sing first line today. First, sing just the pitches, using soft whispering voice - no words - just a soft scatting type of vocals. Similar to what I do for Unforgettable Days - soft reminiscing sounds about a special memory, a special interior feeling. Getting the rhythm, and pitch right. I have already translated or mapped a suitable Chinese text to the original kazaks lyrics. In our case here, no need to change the lyrics just keep the English. However, we could always go from no words scatting to a version of text in any language as well. So I just work on the no word only scat version for now. Even though the lines have no words, this is a great moment to test the emotional content of a line. Like saying I love you in diff languages. It's all in the way how a singer says it. So that's today's work. :)

3rd March. Listening in detail today and if conditions allow, I will try to sing first line. :). First follow the emotional content of the song. Will continue throughout the day. Chorus on old record w rain drizzelling, thunder. 2 Soprano voices? more than one voice, footsteps, heels, door closing. Thunder. Veil screen like rain falling - like sand - car door opening, shutting, soft closing. Song continues moves into a quieter sound. Sound of metal sword getting out of shield sound, like the standard samouraï swords flashing sound. Human voice starts softly. Dimash whispers into the song.

1mar2024 . Today, listening only. No visuals. Listening sound track /Diy singing experiment - I listened today, the opening w old recording of classical singing, scratchy record song. D comes in softly, then next phrases, full strength - bluesy - growl - running down - baby baby - sighing sighing - man in mans world - low strong operatic voice - not going to lie - bluesy - hoo hoo hook cut sharp - more you are my baby - diga diga baby - swinging - electric guitar swing twang twang twang twang - am not going to lie - oooooh oooooh bluesy - swing going dn - oh my baby baby - swinging up swooping down - chorus - bats wings fluttering - old record singing again. Credits running w somber piano notes - mysterious foreboding sounds - the end. Ok, now how about this as listening and voice practice template. Which part of the score could you sing w voice? Not only the voice, but including all the instruments. Isn't this interesting? Mimic all the sounds and record yourself. Like a child drawing the Mona Lisa. I will try it and let you know. of the whole score, including voice and effects, which lines are the signature lines? Which lines are hooks? Which lines are soundscapes? You can play w this for a while. :)

29feb 5th day: I am v impressed by a lot of the comments, it shows how Dimash as a voice has healed peoples sorrows, this is not a small thing. Sound healing. :). Its already a lot.

fourth day: i like it w many varieties of textures of voices, the lyrics, doesnt matter to me. I like the voice going here and there swimming non stop, full strength. It has a few hooks. The instruments are interesting, I am not a specialist, but the sound is v v gd. The words, hmm. Love song hmm, most love songs are whispering soft, not so much like a muscle car to me... but why not , some people enjoy love like this too? :)

Third time i watch this, i could see the subtitle lyrics this time, it was not there before? or is it too faint that's why I didn't see it on the dark overall lighting. The lyric does point or hint a little to "Dracula D" s situation, maybe. But if we dont know what he is singing, just the visuals, it does not look like he is suffering or in a weak position but rather some kind of luring handsome singing sexy guy who's not that into the girl. The girl got her neck grabbed w pointy nails fingers etc. If this is love, what kind of love could this be? No heat or angel appreciation shown as declared in the lyrics. If you turned the sound off, what do you make of the story? Without the subtitles often i cant tell what is being sung, but the sounds are v pretty and musical, rhyming, percussive type of syllables, v musical. I would like to sing along w this tune doesn't matter what words are mapped onto it. Beautiful vocals with such agility, delicateness, strength, from low to high and back, with a little flying high note of a hook, a signature highlight sparkle that just flashed to end a phrase - this flashy-hook was also used in "The Crown" near the end for his aria. Very pretty dynamic song, the string of flowing notes coming down the stairs like so many crystals falling gracefully, absolutely great to sing. :) I love the music. :)

I listen to it a second time, it has the dynamic of the songs like the one in the swimming pool. I like the vocalisation part the best, it somehow expresses yourself more sharply. Beautiful. There is a kind of attack thats more energetic and not sorrowful as in many of your other songs. There are many rhythmic ponctuations, diga diga diga dig ... fun, powerful vocals. Thank you v much for such an interesting song. Best

I was editing and then it all disappeared! So here we go again. Hello Dimash, the stranger from a strange land is how Count Dracula presented himself to the special guest. Now, we get on to the song. I like the intricate music, with many layers, bluesy, and various breathiness and strong voices, mans world, baby baby, more decorative sounds, a little Hoo-Hook high note, and more sliding down , steps coming down v quickly, notes notes notes, a dream song for those who love to exercise a full range of their singing capacities. This means, what a song - it reminds me of these very complicated lace dresses! But it will take many times listening and re listening for me to unravel the gothic flowery musical lines. As for the ladies, of course they are all beautiful, but why must they always be suffering in fear? Cant they be loved for who they are? Anyway, Count Dracula is not as pretty and polished as the guy in this video w black leather outfit. :)

The image adds something dramatic, gothic to the sweet, honey sweet image of the standard D as has been cultured all along. This is his new safe, dark style, a little drift, to add variety to the existing bland sweet standard - w a pretty lady behind. Woman looks feminine knows her sex appeal and power already. She could act out her wishes if she likes. The I got you I, must be D, because we dont know who she is. We are here because of D, so the I is D.
