Somebody went to a karaoke cafe bar last night, and i found almost all the people who got up on "stage" to sing, could sing not bad, and their faces light up when they sing as if they had turned themselves "on,". Some had true big voices, torch songs，pop songs , Arab tunes w giggly girls, birthday party celebrations, anger songs w animated faces... pop from 70s, 80s， Everyone could sing. I sang Hello, but i can't hear myself while singing. Must wait for the clip from members of the fan group ... 2nd time singing in public at karaoke w a fan club. That is when i know, i cannot sing the song smoothly like at home. And from a pic that my posture needs attention!!
this is a karaoke public singing event last night, just social event not anything special. Audience are all the other beer drinkers, diners. I sang "Hello" and two firends came up to join me. I want to improve, posture, the smooth singing between the low notes and v highnotes, i could do the low and the high, but using natural voice after a while, when it gets to the high part, i changed into another voice, i want to be able to make a smooth transition. The in between notes. I could do a siren, and could also map the piano keys to my voice, but when singing, in one phrase, its not smooth. Maybe i have to change resonating points in back of my "little mouth" ? have to practice and find where these points are? How long does this take normally? one yr, 6 months, 3 months? Like learning to ride bike? maintaining balance center no matter if you lean to right or left go fast or slow?
cannot hear myself on "stage". Once on stage, cant remember about posture, and could sing the low notes and the high notes, but the in between when it gets to a point becomes a strain, had to go to high range. Maybe have to learn how to sing those in between notes. But i could do a smooth sirene, so the notes are there... but have to get them out properly. I felt straining and had to switch to the high scale.

Just for myself, a note to myself
I totally agree this issue of singing in foreign language - not just w an accent - but wrong way of pronouncing a word, I especially notice this w a v famous singer, I admire v much but, when I hear him sing w wrong pronunciation, not "accent" but wrong its v jarring to my ears. ie, vis, is pronounced as veeeee, not vissss, this kind of errors, unforgiveable. Like Freya says, its the job of the singer, if you want to claim singing in a foreign language, then this kind of error is inadmissable. It totally lowered the level of the singing by notches.
