Experimental garden 2023, Black Saporte, pitaya, kumquat from a found fruit, purple sweet potatoes, black cherry tomatoes, yellow, red, green, etc, mangoes - all from seeds of fruits that I have eaten from store bought fruits.  Except Black Saporte.

I unzipped one column and checked just to see if anything is growing, and it is.

Pitaya seedlings, all the heads are gone, some slugs have eaten them, i saw them. Now only one or two left.... see if it grows into a cactus core...

sweet potatoes, white, and purple types from Egypt, purchased at Paris Store.

after a couple of wks, no sign of life from sweet potatoes which was sitting in a dish of water - being impatient, I just put it in shallow bonsai dish -maybe some green sprout vine for slips coming? but no sign of anything moving, another wk went by, nothing happened, i lifted up the pot and saw a small 2 inch root from one of the holes... oh, its living. So after another day, I think time for it to go into a real pot - why is it time? Its time because, I dont want to fuss w this anymore. No more time. Dont want to spend anyore time on this patate. I upended the bonsai pot, wow, after i shook the earth a bit, lots of white new roots!!! but the on the above earth part, no difference. So, there you go, things are growing - new pot. I forgot to take pics. Next, I will try to grow purple sweet potatoes.

On June 23rd, Second Life will be turning 20! The 20th annual Second Life birthday celebration (SL20B) will be held from June 22nd to July 11th. Get ready for 20 fun-filled days of live music, performances, shopping, and amazing community exhibits!

This year’s Birthday theme is Our Fantastic Future. The cornerstone of this idea is what we would define as eco-futurism including sustainability, a focus on our environment, and the next generation of our world. Some might call this science fiction, but what is science fiction except a dream for a possible future? In Second Life we build worlds. Our worlds, our way. For SL20B, we invite you to show us your worlds of the future!

Just like last year, your exhibit does not need to stay in theme. Share your Second Life passions with us. Your interests. Your communities. Your world! Every year we celebrate because of you, the amazing and creative Residents who have chosen to call Second Life home. What has drawn you into this world, and what keeps you here? These annual festivities are an opportunity to show us what fuels your Second Life. Let's celebrate that together! 

New this year we are offering two types of exhibitor regions, General rated regions and Adult rated regions. 

If you would like to participate as an exhibitor with a presence at SL20B, then please fill out this exhibitor form no later than May 14th. 

We’re also looking for volunteers to assist during the celebrations. We are seeking Residents with great people skills and a passion to share the best of Second Life to help us make SL20B a huge success! 

If you have the Second Life spirit and stamina to promote SL20B events and serve as a guide for huge crowds, we’d love for you to fill out the volunteer application by May 14th!

I planted 4 seeds in long deeper pods, about 2.5cm below earth, 

now, see how long it takes for something to be seen, I understand that it takes about 4 wks, lets wait and see

one seed per pod

seeds with earth filled to the top, seed is about mid way into the tube pods

seeds are planted pointy end up, vertically, the other end was the where the seed was attached to the fruit, that will be rooting end so better it faces down.

I put a small transparent cone on top to keep the earth moist, should water once every two days

she explains diff stages of the fruit, v detailed and informative, w best temperature, how to pick the fruit diff stages.  v gd teacher.  However, I watched to the end, and did not see her taste it nor show herself eating it!  hmmm.  Missed opportunity?  :)

My friend brought me black saporte seeds from Asia.

And here we are.

I will follow step by step the above video to see if it would be successful, when it become a strong seedling, the experiment will be certified as successful.  :)

Seedling will then be grafted onto an adult fruiting persimmon tree. Persimmon tree cannot sustain more than -2C, so, no rough outdoors like a normal persimmon.

So, it will be in a green house !
