Story line is face, and movie has no slack, no lag.
I watched it to look at Angelica's performance. Jack Nicholson, dont understand why hes supposed to be such an attractive leading man. ;)

Blues Brothers 1980****
was asked to sing this for an audition, so after I learnt it, sang it, this song of 40yrs ago - i decided to watch the movie again, after making the selfie tape. Watched it in the 80s but did not remember anything, except there was a scene in a prison, jailhouse rock. Didnt understand the story line maybe? but had zero memories as I rewatch the whole movie, amazing.
Now, i re watched it, it is a fantastic movie!! Its got everything; all the iconic american cities, shops, car chase, cheap hotels, gospel singers, and the great great muscians, cab calloway, Ray Charles, its a terrifically terrible musican + car chase, everything Americana in this movie, so much fun to watch and so good.
Recommended. Its in the hall of fame for American classic film, and rightly deserving of it.
Its at once light and funny and authentic north american culture, visually, musically, and v warm. And Aretha Franklin, the best!!!

Very elegant, deep, melancholic and warm movie, i have written a review in 2016, will find the link and post it , stay tune. I remember this, as I had just watched L'immensita, curiously the movie just reminds me of this. It is also visually reminds me of "The Foxtrot", maybe because of the music, or the dancing?

Penelope moves so well, a dancer has such good body movements. Shes v credible in the movie, but the movie itself is slightly thin, it does not have the gravity that the theme pretends to have. The husband character is dry, stressed out. He needs a divorce, for himself, and for his wife. We pity the whole society for creating such a set up. Realistic but such a sad life, why women suffer today, whether you are rich or poor, they somehow end up like this. hmmm
