(亮 with a twist becomes 靓/ Leong=>Liang a change of tone and slight sound difference // in local xiyup tongue, it would be low low tone of luuanng =>Leeanng )

There is a huge collection of "地方誌 di fang zi / Day Fong jee / Ai Fong Jee" at Robarts East Asian Library, there are many issues from various small villages etc. They are printed by the local folks to tell about their places. Inside there are maps, how to speak English, food, everything thats of interest for daily lives of the people from the villages. It is so charming. The early ones are often made with wood cut engravings, to represent how to go to the market, a map, etc. The more recents ones of course is full color printing, with news about whoes descendant in America, San Francisco for example, has won the Ms China Town contest etc etc. V nice to see how people are engaged in their surroundings, the before and the after. Life is linked on a long thread, how many generations before and who are coming after. Also the contribution towards rebuilding of the temple at each village. Then the name plaque at the village square would have engraved all the names of all the people who were born there.
