"9 string Guqin", requested by Juni Yeung, and the raison d'être - long story short

Failure of the nine-string qin
The 
Qin Shi entry mentions the attempt to develop a nine-string qin but does not give details. For example, it does not mention tuning. The common assumption is that, as with 1618, the tuning remained pentatonic, adding notes on top or bottom, rather than using these extra strings to create a diatonic tuning (perhaps the 7 note scale plus two octave notes). A related observation: with a nine-string qin it should still be possible to play open string octaves (on the 1st and 8th or 2nd and 9th strings, assuming one can make slightly smaller instruments for smaller hands).

Thus it seems likely that the nine-string qin failed largely because the aim was to make the new instrument play the old music better rather than to develop new music: new idioms. But had they been trying to create a new idiom, what might that have sounded like?

Qin music has always been largely pentatonic; non-pentatonic notes, while more frequent in the surviving early repertoire (see especially modal details for Jieshi Diao You Lan), seem to be there largely for extra color rather than being structurally important: thus even there the melodies all remain primarily pentatonic.6 Furthermore, preliminary attempts to play melodies from the pentatonically tuned nine-string qin tablature from 1618 suggest that they can fairly easily be adapted for seven-string qin. This can perhaps be partially explained by showing the notes available in the most common harmonic positions (7th plus 5th and 9th hui) if a seven-string qin tuned pentatonically is expanded to be a nine-string qin:

Nine string qin tuned pentatonically:

As can be seen, the relative note 4 (fa) cannot be played here. To play 4 in harmonics requires a string tuned to 4 played in the 7th position and/or one tuned to 7 played in the 5th or 9th position. This seems to demonstrate the difficulties of playing an interesting diatonic melody on a qin using pentatonic tuning, whether it has seven-strings or nine.

Does this mean that for playing truly diatonic (heptatonic) melodies one should try either a 7 string or a 9 string qin using a relative diatonic tuning. Since qin idiom strongly suggests that it sounds good to play octaves, for diatonic music one should perhaps first try a nine-string qin tuned diatonically. For example,

Harmonics are used in this analysis because they are such a strong part of the qin idiom. As a result, this preliminary outline shows not only why the seven-string qin has difficulty playing melodies based on a diatonic scale (common Western melodies, for example), but also why extending the qin to having 9 strings, even if tuned diatonically, might still not make it easy to play diatonic melodies and still take advantage of all the opportunities provided by a qin, particularly in terms of playing the extended harmonic passages.

Thus the main use of a nine string qin might be for trying to create a radically new idiom.

5. Extant melodies for 9-string qin
The only ones I have found so far are the 5 examples in the 1618 handbook Lixing Yuanya (QQJC, VIII/318-332). These were presumably made up during the Ming dynasty, quite likely by the compiler of that handbook himself. All melodies in that handbook have lyrics.

6. Persistence of pentatonic qin melodies
This runs counter to claims often made today that old qin melodies were often non-pentatonic. For example, Jieshi Diao You Lan (mentioned above) is sometimes said to be nine-tone whereas actually it is basically pentatonic with much added color from non-pentatonic tones..

Logbook of diy singing lessons, during Covid logdown, if you dont have a voice teacher, could you do it with all the ressources available online?

The first diy song was "Late Autumn" Qiu YiNong 秋意濃 as a result of a singing challenge posed by a Dimash fan club member, I have sang it for 126 days, maybe 700 times now. Not yet performed in public yet. :)
But I will do it, and when I do that, it will conclude the experiment w QYN

This is the second song "Confessa" in Chinese and Italian, will update w Chinese later w corresponding music. Stay tuned!

Why do I do this?
For fun and encouragement for others, and to answer the question, does diy in learning to sing work for most people?
Singing is an athletic activity, very happy thing to do.
You carry your instrument with you everywhere, and singing is very common around the world. :)

I saw they have a sidewinder X1 kit, but I don't think you can modify the ender-3 S1 plus with that kit. As the screen, the size of the gantry, and the firmware are different, it would be better to just buy a used Ender-3 for less than $100 or get a SideWinder X1

if you need a larger print volume. For belt printers, I like the IdeaFormer IR3 which has a print volume of 250x250xInfinite, it's just around $600 and works right out of the box.

Today, I am v excited to see a video of how to convert an Ender3 90° printer into an printing belt printer, means endless Z! I had been looking at the 45° Unlimited Z by Naomi Wu for Creality for a while, since maybe one year ago, but wasnt v sure.  

Now, I see one version here that it could work w 90°, wow that is v gd, it means I dont need to re slice everything to suit a 45°cut. 

 Here is the wonderful testing video by a v charming person. And below is what I want to print.

Loretto Chapel "miraculous" spiral staircase,

Loretto Chapel is best known for its "miraculous" spiral staircase, which rises 20 feet (6.1 m) to the choir loft while making two full turns, all without the support of a newel or central pole. The staircase is built mostly out of wood and is held together by wooden pegs, with no glue, nails or other hardware used. The inner stringer consists of seven wooden segments joined together with pegs, while the longer outer stringer has nine segments. The exact wood used to build the staircase is unknown, although it has been confirmed to be a type of spruce, non-native to New Mexico, and scientifically not identified anywhere else in the world. [7]

The handrails were added later, in 1887. The staircase does not actually stand by itself: Joe Nickell identified the inner wood stringer as well as an iron bracket attached to a column as supporting the staircase. [8][9]

Apart from any claims of its miraculous nature, the staircase has been described as a remarkable feat of woodworking. According to a Washington Post column by Tim Carter:

"It's a magnificent work of art that humbles me as a master carpenter. To create a staircase like this using modern tools would be a feat. It's mind-boggling to think about constructing such a marvel with crude hand tools, no electricity and minimal resources."[10]

According to another professional carpenter, who was interviewed by Ben Radford for his book Mysterious New Mexico:

"The execution is just incredible. The theory of how to do it, to bend it around in a two-turn spiral, that's some difficult arithmetic there."[7]

Although the design of the Loretto stairs is highly unusual, other spiral staircases without center supports are known to exist. One example can be found at the Old Washoe Club in Virginia City, Nevada, which also dates to the 1870s. This staircase was described by Ripley's Believe It or Not! as "the longest of its kind without a supporting pole", although it has fewer turns than the Loretto staircase.[7]

Further afield, another staircase is in the Gdańsk Town Hall in Poland, which was reported to the New Mexican in 1944 by a government official named Bonnie Foster. The paper wrote:

"It is tall, spiral, and without steel nails, but the wood is different. It is in the town hall, of the 14th to the 16th century. How it was constructed, and whether there is a miracle story back of it, Mrs. Foster could not say. But she declared it is strikingly like St. Joseph's in design."[15]
