Nuggertz Lemon came to visit. I was busy studying the combination of mahjong tiles when I heard some music from the Youtube player, and Nuggertz was here, sitting watching me. Such cute avatar! I like these avatars visiting and using the Youtube player because... just because.

Asian mall, setting has an ambiance like that of Samourai island and not the Kungfu movie Chinese mansions. The two pavilions are definitely designed for shopping mall purpose - the one on the left has wall size dragon paintings from WuDaoZi - very famous painting - seems like that this is what people say its WuDaoZis painting, but in fact - he is more famous from text, no one really saw any original pictures. I remember this dragon from a book. On the column inside, Chinese writing says: Chinese ancient culture. Very strange mix of shopping mall wanna be and at the same time its already filled with this nice dragon. The creator has an idea in mind, just like the Kungfu master yesterday, they both have a dream.

Dep came to visit, they were watching a Japanese animation film on Youtube player. I am so glad they did. They used DGM like a little private club. DGM is placed very high up, if you didnt know its there, you just simply cant "walk" or stumble upon it.

Dep called her friend to come, both of them discussed their youtube uploads... its really funny for me to see this. They picked at least 10 or more versions of remixes of Why is the Rum gone?

Dep tried the guqin immediately, without any instructions, she got it to play!

Today, I continue with the inspection of locations for landing the Mobile Music3, and found a few places.

1// One giant size lion - very nice, a whopping 204 prims!! The texture never really rezzed fully even after I waited and waited... maybe its my computer.

2// a blue double hand sculpture, somehow it worked. Even though I dont normally like this type of sculpture nor the building that its build for. But in the almost touching of the two hands, it works. And the clever and clean way the hands were built, it was rather nice.

3// I visited a "brothel" thats housed in a Chinese style building. The architecture was just like any old chinese architecture from any movies. There was a bot inside, naked, or rather dressed in "tied-me-up ropes", half crouching, kneeling bare breasted in a corner between two sofas with a tea tray in hand. (its use is more like a corner coffee table) Its supposed to be an avatar, but I think its a bot. Humiliating to women totally. I suggest this type of service should be properly handled and not displayed like a ceramic tiger. Sex service could be had, but why make it humiliating to the woman - and for free anybody could come in and enjoy this spectacle. Its so totally destructive to the image of women - I think if the women accept to do kinky, slave, whatever sex service, well they do it for some exchange, get paid for it. Its a service. But here, like a sitting statue. This is equivalent to displaying racist statues - that nobody would tolerate in todays standard. There is no other sign of erotica, except a picture of a tattooed women - like body painting - on a giant size poster. No sex balls, no specialised apparatus. The place wasnt even overtly sexual at all. Very strange, and the description of the SIM is totally openly offering crude escort service without any word play. Very strange. I suspect that behind the avatars are all young unemployed men who needs a job. If we got rid of the "slave bot" the whole set up is fine for a nice salon use. But now that I know it had such a bot there, its contaminated. Even if you removed the bot, in my memory, I see this setting with the bots image - a cheap exploitation of images of women.

Grand Kung Fu shop inspired by Kungfu movies, no real life architecture model. The owner is a karate expert. We both agree Bruce Lee is the best of all. I remember the documentary one-inch-punch.

Why do I want to make a sculpture for the city of Dubai? Because I heard so much from this other friend that I find this idea - as an exploration project and truly cross cultural experiment - very interesting. And the women are all dressed in Prada, etc under their cloak like outer wear. I guess they compare their fancy wears at home amongst girl friends - just like in sl. Only private viewings?
Then one skip away from Dubai to Mumbai (2letters to 3letters) - where my guqin friend scholar and performer lives and I will see how he integrates Guqin music with Indian music. This would make a nice itinerary.

China Fights Earthquakes With Cardboard

After the disaster caused by the huge earthquake in May 2008, China is looking for safer schools for its children.

And a possible solution is the temporary schools proposed by Japanese architect, Shigeru Ban. After the terrible earthquake that hit China and caused over 69,000 casualties, Ban brought his ingenious idea to the attention of the authorities, who approved the project. He and a team of Chinese students started building safe schools out of cardboard pillars, plywood roofs and polycarbonate as insulation.

The cardboard and plywood schools are temporary, but in case of an earthquake, should the structures collapse, the materials are nowhere near heavy enough to cause serious injury. The materials used are fireproof and waterproof. Shigeru Ban hopes soon he will be able to build multi-storied buildings out of cardboard.

My number one favorite home structure. But due to the "nomadic" nature of the Yurt, people dont want them in their cities.
I interviewed a lady in a small village in France, her home is beautiful. She said the problem is not the buyer, nor the builder, its the administrators in cities, towns and villages. The Mayor may not support having these structures in their commune - people think it downgrades the value of their property.

I have proposed a nice yurt - without any specific style, contemporary or Mongolian - there are many variations on the market - in our own backyard, a huge strip of garden - 300 ft long land - and what do you know? I got a big NOOOOOOOO from my brothers and sisters, they are against this idea!! They think it looks, looks like "hippy" homes.

So whats the next best thing for affordable, economical green homes? You cant change peoples symbolic memories of certain things they have imprinted in their collective memories, so, a cute tiny house made in traditional materials is the next best thing. As long as it is not more wastage than the original homes of the same type. For example if an "improved", stylised "yurt" cost 5 times more than the traditional Mongolian yurts, well I dont think its about green planet improvements anymore, but rather a style choice - which is what the designer/buyers wanted. You have to also take care of peoples emotional needs.

This hair style is called "Carla" by Little Heaven - a fluffy hair. Got myself a head of hair like this. Comes in black, honey, sepia and peach too. My favorite is this Valentine day two tones special, it a CH special, camp chair special.

Received the Astrakan fur coat, with large brown curls - glossy and soft. When you run your hand through the curls, reminds me of somebodies hair. Only softer and springier to the touch. YSL is right, a good piece of clothing is next best to the real thing, next to your skin.

Someone visited me from Arts Birthday - its a very handsome site, I really like the tiny vignettes that show everyones presence. Wonderful idea! Peter is the one who did the work, so nice.
