Body Double (X) *** dir. Brice Dellsperger
Saw this movie at a museum - the MacVal. Its in a solo show with the artist Jean-Luc Verna. He played all the parts of the film (seems to me) based on "L'important c'est d'aimer.". It uses low tech video rough incrustation to put himself in the scenes with multiple actors... he plays all the roles simultaneously - its all him. At first it seems funny and rough, but the acting is quite remarkable. A little boy (5 year old?) and his mother entered the walk in screening room near the end, it was at the scene of gothique church initiation rites type of scenery... his mother said, lets get out of here, and the kid said, oh, its too scary. Everybody in the room laughed.
