Peter Pan of Toronto
Peter Pan of Toronto, lunch
I went to Peter Pan with a friend, who knew of this restaurant for a long time.
As I am interested in Everyday Art, so a restaurant is a kind of total art experience.
Whats on the wall, what foods they served, the manners of the waiters, waitresses, seating, everything.
Location: Dowtown Toronto Queen St area, very lively easy to access place.
Exterior : Victorian 3 storeys brick house
Interior : some original zinc plate ceiling tiles, v nice touch, the space is very clean and professionally designed. Booth seating, and small cafe table for 2 settings and a long bar on one side off to the back.
Details : Persian carpets with animals heads totally encased in matching persian carpet pattern. There were a few of them, very nice series of decorative art work.
Food: I had fish and chips, the batter was v thick and oily - chips are ok, serving style is ok. crushed peas in a tiny little 1 inch diameter butterdish, same size tartar sauce plate. The waitress brought 2 little dish of homemade ketchup, which was v nice.
But, I wouldnt say the food was anywhere near memorable.
Overall I like the space, I would not go back anytime soon because the food was a standard fare of fish and chips and the outcome was really not so good, so I could imagine the rest of the dishes.
The waiter and waitress were both very friendly and charming.
There were very nice coasters with a b+w frying pan on one side and some comic strip on the otherside.
Overall speaking, the place wins on design, decoration and space. Food is not so good.
Fish and Chips was 16$cdn

Time Made by Wind
Who said that,
there's no memory after the time,
and who said that,
there's no shadow behind the wind.
Who said that, there's no memory after the time, and who said that, there's no shadow behind the wind.」

Big makeover brings modern look and function
The house is a three-storey flat roof structure with a two-storey addition in the rear. Flat roofs were chosen not only for the modern appearance but for rain water collection and green roof application. The house, with its modern appearance, is appropriately positioned on the site. Set back slightly from its neighbours, the house takes on a more humbled position in the row of houses.

The house is filled with natural light in every space and meets the client’s desire of acquiring spacious living areas to house a young family with three small children on a standard 20×120 foot narrow and deep lot in an established downtown Toronto neighbourhood.
To distribute maximum natural light provided by the skylight above the light-filled central stairwell, the stair guards are glass, and the walls on the second and third floors have either glazed partitions or glazed clerestory openings facing the stairwell. The open-concept ground floor layout, with large floor-to-ceiling sliding glass walls spanning the width of the house at both ends, provided a series of light-filled, spacious and fluid-living dining and cooking spaces. Great care was also given to have a lower level that is light flooded and does not feel like a basement.

Peiyou noticed the following:
>Very elegant, zero metallic sounds

Please turn the volume up while listening and don't forget to turn it down when you finished listening.
酒狂. Carbon fiber guqin prototype by Shuengit Natasha Chow;
live demo by Peiyou Chang.
4, 5, 6, and 8.
John 認為聲音醇厚"mellow" was the word he used. " by Peiyou

More thoughts on the philosophy of guqin according to me:
In our times, it is more about self discovery, cross cultural, cross disciplinary access to the world around us. Our context is one that is much more wide and fluid. We have so many possibilities to constantly renew ourselves, smell the roses, eat that extra green tea cake if you want! Drink that wine when you have it - as Li Po - the great Tang Poet said, use that plum flower and display it while the blossoms are ready...dont wait until there is no blossoms and you only get a left over twig.
